Description
See how this Hansatoy stork and other animals are made in the factory:
Hansatoy, also known as Hansa Creation, is the world’s largest manufacturer of plush animals in 1:1 scale from sparrows to giant elephants.
The program consists of more than 3000 different animals. (However, we “only” have about 400 animals in stock in Denmark)
Hansa animals look so much like the real ones that you often can’t tell the difference from meters away.
The animals are used both privately, but also extensively by companies and institutions as eye-catchers in exhibitions, at trade fairs, etc.
Companies like Coca Cola, 20th Century Fox and many others use HansaCreation in marketing and film
All animals are handmade, using between 5 and 20 different materials for each animal.

About the stork in the real world:
The stork is a large, elegant bird that in many cultures is associated with spring, happiness and births. The best known species in Europe is the white stork(Ciconia ciconia), which is especially popular in Denmark and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. With its distinctive black and white plumage, long red legs and red beak, the stork is easily recognizable, both in the air and when perched on a field or rooftop.
White storks are migratory and spend summers in Europe, where they breed, and winters in sub-Saharan Africa. Migration is an impressive journey of thousands of kilometers, where the birds often use rising warm air (thermals) to soar and conserve energy. During migration, storks can form large flocks and it’s a spectacular sight to see them circling high in the sky.
It is omnivorous and feeds primarily on small animals such as frogs, fish, insects, worms and small rodents. It usually hunts by wandering around open landscapes – meadows, wetlands and fields – scouting for movement in the grass. It doesn’t need open water to fish in, making it more flexible than many other wading birds.
When storks return to their breeding grounds in the spring, they often return to the same nesting area year after year. Storks build large, bulky nests, often on rooftops, chimneys, poles or old trees. The nest is built from branches and can weigh over 100 kg if reused and expanded over several years. Both male and female participate in nest building and they often form pairs for life.
The female typically lays 3-5 eggs, and both male and female incubate alternately. After about a month, the eggs hatch and the chicks are diligently fed by the parents. When the chicks are around two months old, they start to fly and soon after, the whole family is ready to migrate south.
It has historically held a special place in Danish culture and folklore. It was considered a lucky animal and was believed to bring children to families – a notion that still lives on in children’s stories and myths. Having a stork living on the roof was seen as a sign of good luck and fertility.
In Denmark, the stork disappeared as a permanent breeding bird in the late 1990s, mainly due to changes in agriculture, drainage of wetlands and lack of food. However, in recent years there has been an increased interest in restoring stork habitats and several projects have helped to bring the species back as a breeding bird – especially in South and East Jutland.
It is now a protected species in Europe and many countries are actively working to ensure its survival. This includes restoring wetlands, limiting pesticide use and setting up nesting platforms. Thanks to these efforts, the stork’s future in Europe is brighter than a few decades ago.
In other words, the stork is not only a beautiful and majestic bird – it is also a symbol of nature’s fragility and man’s responsibility to protect it. With its combination of elegance, strength and cultural significance, the stork is one of those birds that truly leaves a mark on the hearts of those who get to experience it.
